Goat Insurance: We provides goat insurance services to our members by linking them to suitable insurance services to provide cushion in case of sudden death of goat. Members have been oriented on cattle insurance and its benefits. Majority of members have been linked to insurance services to protect them against the loss of productive assets in difficult situations. Company also helps members for quick settlement of claims and documentation process in case of death of goat by negotiating with insurance provider.

Marketing: We have been actively engaged in the marketing of Goatery based products produced by our members. Currently, the marketing of goat milk and goat meat has been undertaken by the company. A brand called SAHAJ has also been developed under which goat milk and meat will be marketed into distance markets. We always try to ensure better rates to member’s produce. Promoting institutional sales, exploring and introducing various value-added products through processing is the prime agenda of the company.

Our aim is not only to market whatever available with our members but to provide the best quality products to our beloved customers. We ensure an end to end traceability of our products to make sure the products we offer are pure and hygienic so consumers can enjoy it without a second thought. The company has tied up with some renowned institutes such as National Research Centre on Meat, Hyderabad for technical support to produce the best quality of value-added meat products for our customers.

Training and capacity building: We conduct training and capacity building programs for goat rearing women on regular basis to provide technical knowledge regarding improved methods of goat rearing. Capacity of women is build up on correct housing practices through demonstration of model goat shed at resource centre and by providing the customize  construction technology, design and costing. Members are also being trained on methods quality goat upbringing, fodder and diet management, diseases and its cures etc. this helps them to reduce the risk of goat rearing with high return on their investment.

Goat Trading: Sometimes Goat works as ATM for poor families in rural areas. Whenever there is a requirement of money during emergency cases such as ailment in the family or family function, women would sell her goat to any trader and get money. But sometimes these traders take benefit of emergency and purchase the goats at lower prices. To prevent women from this distress sale, company introduced weight based goat trading where any women can come and sell her goat purely based on weight of the goat at predefined price which is higher than the prevailing market price. This helped in reduction of market exploitation of members.

Knowledge Support: To improve the quality of goats, the company is promoting Sangamneri and Osmanabadi breed of goat which is suitable in the catchment area of the company. Bucks of pure quality are provided to members for breeding purpose. The members are made aware about better fodder management with available resources. Women are oriented on correct feeding practices and fodder development through demonstration of fodder crop cultivation and its economics, Silage making, preparing concentrated feed using agriculture waste for combatting summer stress period.

Financial Support: All the members of the company are linked with the formal banking system and their bank accounts has been opened. They are also being oriented about financial literacy. The individual women are mobilized into a group of 5 women’s Joint Liability groups. Each joint liability group follows rules and regulation set by the group and they will take guarantee of each other for credit support.

Veterinary services: For providing low cost sustainable veterinary care, a para veterinary cadre called Pashu Sakhi has been developed at village level for primary health care of goats with intensive support by qualified veterinary doctor at cluster level. Pashu Sakhis are working as a point of contact between the company and its members.

Company ensure timely vaccination by qualified doctors and subsequent follow up by Pashu Sakhi. The objective of the veterinary care is to reduce the goat mortality rate to less than 4% from existing 20%. The Pashu Sakhi also helps company in various other activities such as milk collection and ensuring the traceability of milk as well as meat.
